    try this, it tastes terrible!

A few months ago I invested in this great wine book* which told me that in order to increase the range of descriptors which I could apply to wine tasting experiences I had to become a student of smells.

Throughout the last few months I've tried to do this.  Become more conscious of the smells around me.  For instance last night the elevator in my apartment building smelled of an old woman with recently permed hair.  Hopefully, I'll never have to apply that one to wine, but nonetheless it seems like a good one to have in the arsenal.

*Oldman's Guide to Outsmarting Wine by Mark Oldman  (because if you let it that sneaky wine will try to pull one over on you, this book gives you the adequate tools to put wine in it's place, so ha!)
