    important considerations

Quite often I end up killing time in the 5 block radius of 33rd St and 7th Ave, why?  Because I'm a total Madison Square Garden enthusiast, suck it!  Anywhy, so there I am killing time just this last Thursday in my favorite of time killers and wallet ravagers, Borders.  One small latte and a television DVD season 3 purchase later I'm cozying up on a nice small plot of radiator space along the windows with a copy of WATCHMEN contemplating my future, or rather, less dramatically, the future of the ramifications of taking my nerdiness to the next level.

This particular graphic novel has been making cameo appearances in my life throughout the last couple of weeks leading me to this specific point of indecision 2008, to make it sound more presidential in nature.  Just that morning before I had seen a stylishly dressed young woman, probably around my age crack a copy open on my morning commute.  She was totally hot and pulling it off, they type of woman that probably receive more than one craigslist missed connection a la, 'woman of my dreams on F train: you were wearing a cute black dress and reading WATCHMEN.'

So this leads me to believe that should I make the life-altering $19.99 decision and that public displays of reading should only occur while wearing a dress or contrastingly something that screams of geek-chic.

Obviously, the choice to read a graphic novel while in public, and who these days reads if not for their reading choice to be noticed by others, come on!  Obviously, the choice to read a graphic novel is going to make me a magnet, but a magnet of what?

A magnet of 13-year-olds?  I certainly don't want that.  I don't want to reach some sort of WATCHMEN reading milf status when I'm completely not at that stage in life where I'd be the "m" in that acronym.

I could only hope that the magnetization of work to some sort of 10 years post HS graduate Seth Cohen-ish crowd.  Because what fan of prime-time, pre-writers strike of 2007, fan doesn't hope for such things?  And could this be the catalyst to achieving those dreams?

When faced with such a moral dilemma I choose to turn to a higher power a WW(insert my idols here)D.

    What Would Veronica Mars Do?

What Would Bert & Ernie Do?

What Would She-Ra (princess of power) Do?
